Zelpha Mae Brassea, 82, of Coal Creek, Colorado passed away September 14, 2013 in Canon City, CO. She was born in Florence, Colorado May 9, 1931 to Wilbur and Verdie (Carter) Lewis.
Mae spent most of her time taking care of her family. In the 1960’s she worked at the Florence Hotel and The Frying Pan restaurants waiting tables and cooking desserts. Her many hobbies included oil painting, drawing, crocheting, crafting, working in her yard and sharing her creations with her friends.
Mae is survived by daughter, Carol Lee Clubb; daughter, Zoe Ann (Roger) Conner; son, Paul Wane Brassea; her grandchildren, Jared Wirthlin (Michele), Bryan (Michelle) Conner, Amanda Mitchell, Trent Conner (Samantha) , Lindsey Brassea, Megan Brassea; great grandchildren, Zach, Rachel, Emily and Lydia; brother, Earl (Edith) Lewis; sisters, Wilma (Max) Munson, Geneva (Bob) Garoutte, Vera (Jim) Kite, Juanita (Curtis) Acton, Lola Davies; sister-in-law Verde Mae Lewis; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, James Loren Brassea; the father of her children Jim Brassea; brother, Paul Lewis; brother-in-law Griff Davies; son-in-law JR Clubb.
