Obituary for Janice Lea "Jan" Stockham

Janice “Jan” Lea Stockham, age 74, of Canon City, Colorado passed away Sunday January 20, 2019, where she lost her battle with against cancer.
Janice was born December 28, 1944 to Travis Lee Pierce and Virginia (Conley) Pierce in Upland, California. Janice graduated from Chaffey High School in June of 1962. After graduating she went on to marry Robert Storms on September 17, 1963. After only a couple years of marriage Robert was killed in a truck accident. She later met and married Marvin Robert Stockham on December 12, 1969.
Janice worked for Fedco for a few years before she went back to college to pursue higher education. Janice worked for the painters union for 30 years as an office manager, she then decided to change jobs and went to work for the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers. She spent five years with them before moving to Canon City, Colorado where she settled down and went to work for Raymond James. After semi retiring, Janice went to work for Habitat for Humanity.
Janice had a love for horses and sewing. She also belonged to the Woman’s Emblem Club in California. Janice spent time in the Kiwanis Club along with putting together fund raiser’s for Habitat for Humanity. After retirement Janice spent her time volunteering for hospice and St. Thomas More Hospital. Janice loved spending time with her friends, having girls lunch and spending time with her family especially her great-grandchildren.
Janice is survived by her daughter, Sherlyn (Harold) Mager; granddaughter, Victoria (Christopher) Carmichael Houghton, grandson, Hunter White; two great-grandsons, Alexzander Carmichael and Christian Carmichael-Houghton; step-father Cleo Ray Conley.
Janice is preceded in death by her parents, Travis Lee and Virginia (Conley) Pierce; husbands, Robert Storms and Marvin Robert Stockham.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday January 29, 2019 1:00 pm at Holt Funeral Home
