Charles W. “Chuck” Moore Sr., 74, passed away February 14, 2013 in Canon City, CO. He was born April 12, 1938 to Willie and Eula (Blankenship) Moore. He married Virginia Russ on June 22, 1957 in Alhambra, CA
Charles served in the United States Navy from 1956 until 1960. Chuck began as a truck driver for Leone Trucking in Aguilar, CO. He continued his career as a construction worker and then opened his own construction company until he went to work for CDOT in 1981. He retired from CDOT after 23 years. He enjoyed family, hunting, fishing, bowling, woodworking and planning out every detail of his vacations.
He is survived by his wife Virginia “Ginger”; sister, Lucille Turner; sister-in-law, Pat (Tom) Verquer; children Ava (Shane) Clasby, Charles W. (Shai) Moore Jr., John (Sharon) Moore, and G. Harold (Sandra) Moore; grandchildren Zack, Brandon, Megan, Brandi-Ann, C.J., and Hunter. He is also survived by several great grandchildren.
Visitation at 12:00 p.m. with services to follow at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 22, 2013, at Wilson Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mountain Vale Memorial Park in Canon City.
