John (Jack) Cowperthwaite was born on June 4, 1926 in Coal Creek, CO to Ray and Annie (Fabrizio) Cowperthwaite. Sadly, he died on May 26, 2013.
Jack was a 1944 graduate of Florence High School. He then joined the Navy and served in the South Pacific for two years. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Western State College and was then employed as a purchasing agent and business manager of the Colorado State Penitentiary for thirty one years.
Joan Tyner and Jack were united in marriage on August 13, 1948 and have three children- Michael (Jane), Shelley (Steve) Rossi and Kris (Jim) Cowperthwaite Boyd.
Jack is survived by his wife, three children, brother Mel (Jo) of Carson City, NV, six grandchildren - Hallie (Joel) Janssen, Lindsey Cowperthwaite, Arah Rossi, Afton (John) Volk, Aaron Cowperthwaite and Tianni (Ronnie) Martinez, and six great-granchildren - Luke, Alec, Aleizja, Trevanni, Atalie and Jayden.
At Jack’s request, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Fremont Regional Hospice or St. Jude’s Hospital through Holt Family Funeral Home. Arrangements are handled through Holt Family Funeral Home. Online condolences @www.holtfamilyfuneralhomes.com
