Mary A. Boben, 86, of Puyallup, Washington died peacefully at her home in Puyallup May 23, 2016, comforted by her deep and abiding faith in God. The youngest of three children, Mary was born Sept. 18, 1929 in Powersville, Missouri to Adam D. and Martha (Klingensmith) Pauley. In 1946, she married Ralph Cline Sr., in Clayton, New Mexico. In 1955, Ralph Sr. was tragically killed in a farming accident. Mary moved to Canon City, Colorado and in 1966, she married William (Bill) Boben. She lived many years in Canon City, Colorado prior to moving to Puyallup, Washington in 2004.
During her lifetime, Mary held a variety of jobs, but her passion was working as a surgical and psychiatric nurse. She was also well known for her exquisite cake decorating skills. She enjoyed reading, collecting teddy bears, gardening, volunteering, crocheting, the outdoors, homemade biscuits, and going on car rides. All of her children know that chocolate pudding and fried potatoes cannot be surpassed as comfort food. She cherished her family, especially her grandchildren, with whom she was able to create lasting memories. Mary’s warm smile and sparkling eyes always brightened a room, and her perseverance, strength, wit, and generosity will be remembered by all those who knew her.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Bill Boben, and daughter, Sherie (Boben) Savage. She is survived by children; Ralph (Natalie) Cline Jr. of Worland Wyoming, Connie Linam (the late Dale Linam) of Hays, Kansas, Diana Bergman (Chuck Skerjanec) of Canon City, Colorado, Lorita Dill (Brad Becker) of Fort Collins, Colorado, and Mary L. Boben (Bob Thrift) of Puyallup, Washington; sister, Nellie Butler of Parsons, Kansas; and brother-in-law, Frank W. Boben of Canon City, Colorado. She is also survived by 13 cherished grandchildren, several great- grandchildren, friends and family, and her faithful miniature dauschund Baxter. Additionally, the family wishes to gratefully acknowledge and extend their deepest gratitude to Myrene England, beloved friend and caretaker of Mary during the last year of her life.
