Makenna Ray Parker blessed the world with her presence on December 14, 1995. Her footprint ended prematurely on June 18, 2016.
Makenna is survived by her mother, Bobbi Jo Dobbs and her husband Mark Borrego, of La Veta and her father, Kirk Parker of Pueblo; step-father, Matthew Dobbs; four sisters, Alexis Parker, Brecken Dobbs, Reileigh Williams and Kyla Parker, two brothers, Brayden and Grayson Dobbs-Borrego and niece Tazia Atencio.
Kenna is also survived by her Great Grandpa, Ray Maestas; Grandparents, Steve and Debbie Channel, John and Valerie Parker, and Mike and Sue Dobbs. She will be missed by her 16 aunts and uncles, 16 cousins and countless more family and friends.
To know Makenna was to know virtue, optimism and true beauty. She loved with all her heart and created art beyond what could only come from someone’s soul.
A rock for so many and a strong moral compass that caused people to self-reflect. Kenna had the power of conviction that will forever impact the people that knew and loved her. She was not afraid to be who she was or to advocate for anyone in need.
Her untimely departure cannot be understood or explained. Her footprint will be felt by many forever. Wear your seatbelt.
A private family service will be held in Canon City on Friday. There will be a public memorial held at La Veta High School Gymnasium in La Veta at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday June 25.
