Edith “Ruth” Buffum, 86, resident at Skyline Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2016.
She was born in Canon City on February 14, 1930, to Jacob “Bill” and Edith (Shaw) Osborn. Ruth lived most of her life Canon City and was a graduate of Cotopaxi High School. Ruth worked in the fabric departments of both Alco and Gibson’s for many years and later owned her own professional sewing business.
Preceding her in death are her parents; first husband, Harry Ellison; second husband, Kennith Buffum; son, Kennith Guy Buffum; brother, Roy Osborn; and grandson, Justin Eggleston.
Ruth is survived by three children, Louise Lloyd, Ruth Ann (Greg) Middleton, Shirley (Bill) Kenan; daughter in law, Jeanne Buffum; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren; numerous extended family and friends. Ruth loved her family above all things, and especially adored her grandchildren. She was loved by all who knew her, and will be dearly missed.
Funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 19, 2016 Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, 1449 S. 9th Street, Canon City, with interment to follow at Lakeside Cemetery.
