Vernon C. Schwab, 81, of Canon City, passed way August 16, 2016. He was born May 21, 1935, in Pueblo, Colorado to Clarence and Alma (Bouchard) Schwab.
He was raised on a ranch in Westcliffe, Colorado and was a lifelong member of the PRCA. Vernon was a rodeo man, cattleman, and a stranger to no one. He ran a successful tree business for over four decades and lived life on his own terms.
Vernon is survived by his children; Greg (Shirley) Schwab, Kevin (Helen) Schwab, Sherry (Ted) Allnutt, Cari (Jacob) Kuhn; sister, Jerry Lou (Ralph) Smith; grandchildren, Silas (Tarin), Jamie, Scott (Ashley), Lindsey Schwab, Hannah Allnutt, Sarah (Jake), Steven, Joshua Kuhn; great grandchildren, Paislee Ann Mullin, Harper Kuhn, Angelina, Isiah, Nathan, Noah, and Anyiah Schwab.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Phyllis; and brother, John Schwab.
Graveside service, 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 22, 2016, Lakeside Cemetery, 1008 Elm Ave. Canon City, CO 81212. The family will be hosting a reception at the home of Kevin Schwab, 805 N. 15 St. Canon City, CO 81212, after the service.
