Obituary for Lester Eugene Will

Lester E. Will, Builder, 79, passed away at home in Canon City, CO on March 10, 2017 from cancer. Lester was born June 22, 1937 in Halstead, Kansas to Frank and Rachel (Davidson) Will.
He is survived by his sister, Joyce Speer; daughters, Beth (Reggie) Will, Raeanne Will; grandson, Sam (Hannah) Collins; granddaughter, Caitlyn Collins; niece, Dana (Joe) Sanches, Emily and Sara Sanches; and numerous cousins from Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Rachel Will; son, Scott E. Will; brother-in-law, Warren Speer; and nephews, David Speer and Danny Speer.
Lester graduated from Pueblo Central High School in 1955. He worked briefly for CF&I after his Navy Service on the USS Chara (AKA58) from 1956-1958 on or near Japan. He served the Navy as a Fireman and Machinist's Mate, third class.
He built family, many lifelong friendships, custom cabinetry-furniture, and homes primarily in Breckenridge, Vail, and Eagle Valley Colorado. He won the 1980 Vail Craftsmanship award, which was featured in the New Vail Magazine 1979. He retired to Pueblo in 1985 and enjoyed buying and fixing up houses. He built the family cabin near San Isabel, Colorado in the summers of 1965-1966. He enjoyed a good joke, animals, spending time with family and friends, making wooden bowls on his antique lathe, and spending time with his sidekick, Barney.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date at the family cabin he loved so much. Memorial contributions can be made to the PAWS shelter of Pueblo.
