Obituary for Arthur Marrell Ormond

Arthur Marrell Ormond, 86, of Canon City, passed away September 18, 2017 at Bruce McCandless State Veterans’ Nursing Home, in Florence. He was born October 19, 1930 in Boulder, Utah to Glen and Ruby (Alvey) Ormond.
Arthur was very active with the Back Country Horseman’s Club, where he was a board member. He also competed in team penning for over 5 years. His horse named Bucky was his faithful partner for many years. In addition to being a cowboy, Arthur enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. He especially loved his dog, Katie and cat, Fluffy.
He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Paula Ormond; children, Carol (Dean) Allred, Gary (Angela) Ormond, Lisa (Mark) Turner; six grandchildren; numerous extended family members and many friends, including David Bachman and Chuck Mallow, who are honorary pallbearers for Mr. Ormond’s service.
Arthur was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen, in 1988; both parents and brother, Orville.
Graveside service, 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 25, 2017, Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 Hancock Expy., in Colorado Springs.
