Richard Gerald (Jerry) Graves, of Canon City, Colorado, passed away December 5, 2017 at the age of 75, from complications of Lewy Body Dementia. Jerry was born March 21, 1942 in Memphis, Tennessee to Donald and Sue Graves.
After graduating from Wasson High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Jerry served his country in the United States Navy from 1959-1962. Returning to Colorado, Jerry spent several years in the construction trade, had 20 successful years in auto sales, and closed out his working life as a real estate professional. He enjoyed playing golf and cards with his many friends, and loved watching golf, football and baseball.
On March 10, 1990 he married Elisabeth (Liz) Phillips-Graves, who survives him, along with his son, Tim Graves; step-children, Mike (Pam) Phillips and Christi (Jamie) Menefee; brother, Michael (Becky) Graves; sister, Carol (Fred) Beitler; grandchildren, Meghann, Sarah, Juliann, Trevor, Brady, Cassidy, and Kaylee; great grandchildren, Trinity, Addisyn, Lilly, and Quincy. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his son (Rick), and his grandson (Jonathan).
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Living Stone Calvary Chapel in Canon City.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Fremont Regional Hospice.
