Obituary for Benjamin Reida

Benjamin Reida
Benjamin Arnold Reida, 69, passed away unexpectedly at his home December 26, 2017. He was born to Gale and Edith (Wohlschlegel) Reida September 22, 1948 in Kingman, Kansas. He grew up on the family farm in Rago, Kansas and graduated from Kingman High School before being drafted into the Vietnam Campaign.
Ben loved his country and while serving in the Army he earned numerous medals including a Bronze Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal and the Vietnam Gallantry Cross W/Palm. He was a proud Vietnam Vet and participated in “Run for the Wall” twice. He was a member of VFW, American Legion (Westcliffe Post 170) and a lifetime member of the NRA.
On August 9, 1989 he married the love of his life Bridgette Denney in Sturgis, South Dakota during the famous annual biker rally.
Ben was an avid biker and loved taking long mountain rides, fishing, and hunting.
Ben farmed the family farm before he and his wife Bridgette eventually retired to the mountains where he always wanted to be with his favorite aunt, Clara Mary Reida.
He is survived by his loving wife, Bridgette Reida; son, Matthew Reida; daughter, Stacey (Kyle) Meiries; two step-children, Joshua and Jermiah Jones; along with seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
